When? each Sunday, for about 35 minutes during the 11 a.m. service
Where? the children gather at the front of the church for a prayer, then go to other
locations in the church (the basement, the kitchen, and the church hall) for their
classes
What? age-appropriate classes:
- stories, songs, games, and crafts for the youngest;
- learning Christian faith traits for the intermediate ages;
- Bible study and discussion for the teens
Who? all ages of children and teens are welcome to our inclusive Church-school.
We seek to respond to the interests and needs of the individual children who
attend. Parents are welcome to accompany very young children if they wish. Our
teachers are members of the congregation who enjoy the opportunity to grow their
own faith together with their students.
Why? Church-school allows young members of our community to worship God, ask
questions, and learn the basic stories and beliefs of the Christian faith in an
informal setting specifically geared to their ages and levels of understanding.
For more information, contact Betty Schellenberg, Church-School Coordinator,
through the church office.
Upcoming Activities:
During Lent of 2010, the Church-school worked on a special Resurrection
Project. They created ceramic plates which were glazed, fired, and displayed on
Easter Sunday. The plates were designed around a butterfly theme - an ancient
Christian symbol of resurrection and new life.
Some photos of the project are on this page.
Come join us for the learning and fun!
